The Singapore Coach Excellence (SG-Coach) Programme is an enhanced training and development pathway for all coaches in the community, clubs or high-performance sport programmes. The aim is to establish a training and development system to develop high quality and professional coaches.
Coaches trained in this programme will gain multi-dimensional skills in the area of sports science, coaching, life skills, evidence-based practices and will be able to promote social values and principles. The SG-Coach Programme replaces the National Coaching Accreditation Programme (NCAP) since 27 March 2015.
The SG-Coach programme consists of 3 progressive phases targeted at various development levels:
- Level 1: Foundation SG-Coach Development
- Level 2: National SG-Coach Development
- Level 3: Master SG-Coach Development

Aim of the Course
To produce high quality and professional coaches who are competent to train novice participants in the community.
Steps to attain SG-Coach Weightlifting Integrated Certificate (Level 1)
Date: 1st June 2024 to 30th June 2024
Mode: Video Submission
A pre-requisite skill test will be conducted through video submissions to evaluate and examine the candidates. This is to ensure that participants have already obtained prior knowledge and technical proficiency in regards to the sport of Weightlifting.
Participants who have passed the skill test will be notified with the details of registration and payment.
Date: 1st July 2024 - 30th August 2024
Venue: Online (Home-based)
Participants will be required to set up their Sport-Sync accounts to gain access to the E-learning materials during this period. Instructions will be given to participants who have passed the skill test.
Participants are required to complete ALL modules from the E-learning portal before the start of the face-to-face sessions.

Participants are to note that attendance for all the sessions is COMPULSORY.
After completing the 4-day face-to-face sessions, participants will have to submit their workbook (Coaching philosophy, RAMS form, 1 Session Plan) within a given timeframe.
Participants will be provided with theoretical materials to study prior to the Online Exam.

Participants who have passed the Online Theory and FSS Exam will proceed to the practical assignment.
Within a year from passing the online theory exam, Coaches will be required to guide and coach at least 1 athlete in any SWF assessment or competition.
Coaches are required to submit the profile of the selected athlete 3 months prior to the assessment or competition.
