SCS EMIT! Project Launch – 29th Aug 09

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

SWF is proud to have supported and participated in the EMIT!Project Launch, organised by Student Care Services (SCS), which marked the beginning of the year-long EMIT! Project to celebrate the upcoming Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. The project includes various YOG-themed events and activities from August 2009 to August 2010.

The event was conceived with the aim of introducing the EMIT! project and the YOG to the SCS youths and families, the schools served by SCS, and the public. We hope to promote interest in sports, especially sports featured in the YOG, and in the nation-wide YOG festivities. The event is endorsed and promoted by the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee as a CAN! Event (youth-initiative outreach projects).

With the Singapore Youth Olympic Games (SYOG) just but a year away, sports formed the team of the celebrations –   cultural diversity through sports. This was to also enourage youths to actively participate in such community outreach programmes and raise awareness on some of the games and the atheletes that will feature during the SYOG.

SWF was proud to be given the opportunity to participate in and play its part in the celebrations.
