VOXSPORTS

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

VOXSPORTS is a new dynamic ‘open media’ channel dedicated to using social media platforms to provide media and content coverage to local sports and athletes with the aim of raising Singapore’s sporting standards to match that of the international stage.

Owned and managed by VOX Group, VOXSPORTS was founded early this year with the aim of  creating excitement in the local sporting scene by promoting, developing and continuously creating awareness of local and world class sports events in the Republic. As an organisation, our team has expanded from the original 3 founders to a diverse team of 18 media, communications, IT and marketing professionals.

Singapore Weightlifting Federation welcomes VOXSPORTS’ support for our sport.

Singapore Open Invitation Weighlifting Championship 2007

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

The Singapore Open 2007 was held on the 18 August 2007 at *scape Youth Park @ Orchard. We had athletes from Thailand and Malaysia competing together with our Singapore athletes for the medals. The event was graced by Guest-of-Honor, Mr Teo Ser Luck, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports.

Despite the initial heavy downpour, the event started with the Women Open Category. The Thailand ladies are very strong in this category. They bagged all three medals.

In the Men Under 77Kg Category, Mr Sulak from Thailand took the
Gold medal in this category and Mr Ben Ho and Mr Brian Law from Singapore bagged the Silver and Bronze respectively. The Men Open Category saw competition between the three countries. Malaysia emerged as the Champion with Thailand as the 1st Runner Up and Singapore as the 2nd Runner Up.

In addition to weightlifting, we also showcased Muay Thai and Capoeria. The demonstration was done by Mixed Martial Arts Academy.
